Turkish Van Show Results

 

Since our first litters of Turkish Vans in 1988, Pairodocs cats have been actively shown in The International Cat Association and the Cat Fanciers Association. While we don't have the time or energy to show as extensively as we used to (for which our cats are probably thankful!), we are pleased with the recognition that our cats have received over the years. The results of these efforts are detailed below. You can see photos and read the profiles of several of these cats in the "Meet the Cats" section of this site.

Cat Fanciers Association (CFA)

Pairodocs was instrumental in helping the Turkish Van to gain advancement to championship status in CFA in 1994. We showed the majority of the cats that were required for the breed to be recognized during the preceeding 6-year period that they were in the Miscellaneous and Provisional classes. CFA awards the titles of Grand Champion and Grand Premier.

The International Cat Association (TICA)

We actively showed in TICA from 1988 to 2007, starting when we acquired our first Turkish Vans. Pairodocs has achieved more winners than any other Turkish Van breeder in the world and accomplished a number of historic firsts for the breed in TICA, including (as of 2009)the first and only IWs, and the first and only ODs and OSs. The breed has been recognized in this association since 1979. Starting in the 2007-8 show season, TICA allowed solid white cats to be considered as championship level Turkish Vans and after almost 20 years of extensive showing and support to TICA, we no longer exhibit in that organization. What the future holds - who knows. TICA's title system is incremental, allowing multiple titles from Grand Champion to Supreme Grand Champion, each representing an increasing degree of difficulty.
